VERNON - Search and Rescue were called out Sunday afternoon to help rescue a man who had fallen at Fintry Falls provincial park.

Yesterday, Aug. 5, the man was taking a picture with his cellphone at the top of the falls when he dropped his phone.

When he reached out to grab it, he fell approximately 150 feet down the face of the falls.

The Vernon Search and rescue page said he “miraculously” landed in the middle pool with very little injury. His friends and family called 911.

Vernon Search and Rescue along with North Westside Fire Department, Kelowna Fire Department, B.C. Ambulance Service all responded and worked together to help him get out.

The man was rescued and will be able to spend the rest of the long weekend with his family and friends.

VSAR reminds everyone to “always play safe, and be very careful this long weekend and beyond.”
