REGINA - The mystery of the man in the century-old photograph has been solved in Saskatchewan.
The man whose picture was found in a time capsule that was encased in the wall of the provincial legislature is Franklin Joseph Robinson.
Robinson's granddaughter, Pat Malicki (mah-LICK'-ee), identified him after seeing the photo in the news.
Malicki, who lives in Windsor, Ont., says she nearly fell off her chair when she saw the photo of her grandfather, whose nickname was Jadel (JAY'-dull).
She says Robinson was a surveyor who did the boundaries for Saskatchewan and oversaw construction of the legislature.
Malicki says she doesn't know how his picture ended up in the time capsule, but she guesses he put it in for a joke.
The photo was found when the capsule was opened last December to mark the building's 100th anniversary.
There was no name on the photo and it wasn't on the list of the time capsule's contents.
