A Salmon Arm man is $50,000 better off scratching a winning lottery ticket.

Richard Lambert said he was at a loss for words after picking up the top prize on a Super Crossword Scratch and Win ticket.

"I was at home and thought, ‘what the heck?’” Lambert said in a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release issued today, Feb. 13. "I asked to see my brother’s phone so I could check the ticket to make sure."

Lambert said he has a few "practical purchases" with his prize money as well as saving a portion.

"I don’t have words, just laughter," he said.

The Shuswap resident purchased his ticket from the Salmon Arm Chevron at 101 Trans-Canada Highway.
