Salmon Arm man dead after being hit by vehicle during argument over money

One man has died after being hit by a vehicle following a dispute about money.

According to a Salmon Arm RCMP media release issued today March 16, an altercation broke out between four individuals, two in a vehicle and two on foot. The men all knew each other and were arguing over an unpaid debt.

One person hit the vehicle with a blunt object before then being run over.

He was transported to hospital, but succumbed to injuries and later died.

Police say at one point all four individuals were fighting with each and originally said that two people were sent to the hospital with "various minor cuts, scrapes, and a possible fractured hand."

It seems the injury was much more serious.

The altercation took place at 4:25 p.m., March 6, in the 1100 block of Lakeshore Drive SW.

No other information was released as the investigation continues.
