Salmon Arm man arrested for stolen vehicle, after drug incident

A Salmon Arm man is in police custody after he was arrested following an incident involving drugs.

On June 2, at roughly 4:45 p.m. Salmon Arm RCMP officers were called to assist other emergency services in the 9000 block of Highway 97B, according to a RCMP news release.

Three of the five people associated with a vehicle had "suffered medical issues as a result of drug use and were being treated by the provincial ambulance at the scene," according to the release.

Police found out the vehicle had been stolen earlier that day from Revelstoke at roughly 1:22 p.m., according to the release. The police investigation found that the driver of the vehicle, a Salmon Arm man, had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest in Kamloops, Kelowna and Camrose, Alta.

He was taken into custody for possession of the stolen 2003 Dodge truck, and because of the warrants, according to the RCMP. The warrants were for property offences, driving offences, and offences relating to failing to abide by conditions of release, according to the press release.
