PENTICTON - Shoppers can win a wheelbarrow full of groceries while supporting two local causes.

The Rotary Club of Penticton is holding their annual Wheelbarrow and Food Raffle to raise money for the Soupateria and the Salvation Army.

Last year, the club donated the net proceeds of $1,800 to these causes.

There is a prize for each of the four stores involved - Walmart, Safeway, Save-On and IGA - consisting of a wheelbarrow loaded with $300 in groceries, including a $25 gift certificate that can be used to buy a Christmas turkey.

Groceries are provided by Rotary and the respective stores. The approximate value of each prize is $375. The $2 tickets will be entered for the prize at that store.

The Walmart raffle runs today, Dec. 4, with the prize being drawn for at 4 p.m.

The Safeway, Save-On and IGA raffles run today and tomorrow, with the draws held at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The Rotary Captains for each location are: Walmart – Gord Watson, Safeway – Derek Blaszak, Save-On – Ryan Lloyd, and IGA – Sandra Krauer.

A team of volunteers filled 56 shifts to run the raffles.
