A made-for-TV movie featuring an Okanagan orchard is premiering tonight.
Last September, Lake Country's Gatzke Orchard was transformed into a movie set for the upcoming CMW Productions Inc. movie Sweet as Pie.
The story is about an old apple farmer who has gone broke but with the assistance of his daughter, they are able to save the business by baking her grandmother’s recipe at the country fair. There’s also some romance between the daughter and the farm helper.
Film crews even kept the name of Gatzke Orchard for the movie, which you can watch tonight, July 31, on UPtv at 7 p.m. EST.

The film industry in the Okanagan is expanding exponentially and has become an established centre for both movies and television shows, according to the Okanagan Film Commission.
Sixteen films were shot in the Okanagan in the first five months of this year with bigger budget projects scheduled for the second half of 2022.
And looking to 2023, there are two television series in development.
