A rockslide has closed the Pelmewash Parkway in Lake Country this afternoon.
Pelmewash Parkway is closed due to a rockslide that occurred at roughly 3:15 p.m. today, Feb. 3, according to a District of Lake Country media release.
Crews are on site and the district is encouraging drivers to take an alternative route along Highway 97 or Oyama Road.
Lake Country fire chief Steve Windsor said no injuries were reported.
"I don't think any vehicles were involved," he said. "They're trying to see if they can get one lane open tonight. They're going to have a geotech come out before they do that just to make sure the bank is stable," Windsor said.
The district said it will have further updates once information is available. You can check for those updates on Lake Country's Facebook page here.
