SEATTLE - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 6-4 on Saturday night, winning its sixth straight game to start the WHL season.
Rourke Chartier led the way offensively, scoring a hat trick for the Rockets, including the winning goal, while Nick Merkley had four assists in the game.
Justin Kirkland scored his third of the season and added an assist while Riley Stadel also had a goal and an assist. Tyson Baillie added an empty net marker to seal the win.
The Rockets were 3-for-7 on the power play and outshot Seattle 34-22 in the game.
The win gave the Rockets two wins against WHL US teams after a Friday night win when Kelowna earned a 5-4 overtime victory over Everett.
The Rockets are now 6-0-0-0 on the season and will return home to face the Swift Current Broncos on Tuesday night in Kelowna.
