The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Red Deer Rebels 3-0 on Friday night in central Alberta.
The Rockets owned the play most of the game. They got a first period goal from Nolan Foote and held a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.
Kelowna jumped out quickly in the second, getting two early goals. One courtesy of Erik Gardiner (his first in the W.H.L.), and Kole Lind continued his productive season scoring the Rockets third of the night.
The third period was back and forth but the Rockets held the Rebels off the score sheet to award Brodan Salmond with his first career W.H.L. shutout.
The Rockets improve to 20-12-2-0 on the season.
Brodan Salmond improves to 5-4-1-0.
The Rockets are right back in action tomorrow night when they visit the Calgary Hitmen for game two of three this weekend.
The Rockets next home game is December 27th when they host the Kamloops Blazers.
