Reservation system for campsites in B.C. Parks reopens Monday

B.C. Parks online campsite reservation system resumes operation at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2020.

Campers will soon be able to book their favourite B.C. Parks campsite once again.

B.C. Parks Discover Camping’s online reservation system and call centre will begin accepting new reservations as of 7 a.m., Monday, May 25.

The reservation system was shut down in March as part of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions that also closed the B.C. Park campgrounds.

Operating with a two-month rolling booking window, this season’s system will allow visitors to book reservation dates on May 25 for arrival dates up to July 25. Bookings made on May 26 can include reservation dates up to July 26, and so on.

British Columbian residents will be given preferential access to this year’s camping season in support of COVID-19 initiatives to stay local and avoid unnecessary travel, a release from B.C. Parks said.

Non-B.C. residents with existing reservations should contact the call centre prior to June 15 for a full refund. Any reservations made by non-residents after the system reopens on May 25 may be subject to immediate cancellation.

Some campsites had been booked prior to the system’s closure in March. When the system launches May 25, availability will be up to date and on display, B.C. Parks said.
