Video surveillance captured images of a man wearing a hoodie vandalizing a number of vehicles in Nakusp last week, including a marked RCMP vehicle.

“It is of great concern to the Nakusp RCMP that a police vehicle was targeted as damage to the vehicle could have resulted in a front line police officer not being able to respond to an emergency call for service from the public,” RCMP Cpl. Jaime Moffat said in a news release.

No mention was made of what kind of damage was inflicted on the vehicles in the area of 5 Street NW.

The vandalism was caught on video at about 2:52 a.m. on June 14.

The male suspect is estimated to be between 5'8" and 6' tall. He was wearing a light coloured hoodie with the hood pulled up over a baseball cap, light coloured pants and black shoes with a reflective tab on the back. He was carrying a light coloured backpack with a black zipper.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nakusp RCMP at 250-265-3677.
