WILLIAMS LAKE - RCMP responded to an escalating road rage incident which led to the seizure of a lot of cash and some marijuana plants yesterday.
Williams Lake RCMP say just after 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, officers responded to an escalating road rage incident in the parking lot of the McDonalds restaurant at 1323 Broadway Ave. S.
When police arrived on the scene two men were arrested and taken into custody, according to an RCMP media release.
During the confrontation, one of the men had a knife so police searched one of the cars as part of their investigation. Inside the car, the RCMP found a trace amount of 'vegetative' marijuana and $19,200 dollars in cash, RCMP say. The money was seized under proceeds of crime.
"Each incident is unique in the policing world, and sometimes those incidents yield really good results. In this instance, some illegitimate cash-flow has been taken off the streets," Const. Taylor Callens says in the release.
RCMP say both men have been released from custody and charges are pending.
Police did not release the names of the men or say what started the road rage incident.
