VERNON - RCMP officers seized cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl during a raid at a Vernon home this week.

Officers arrested four people following the raid on the residence located in the 3000 block of 39 Avenue in Vernon Wednesday, Apr 3, according to an RCMP media release. Police seized what is believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as drug paraphernalia, an undisclosed amount Canadian currency and stolen property.

Police say there were 16 people in the suspected drug house at the time of the raid.

"While it is not unusual to locate numerous persons at a residence during a warrant execution, to find 16 people was taxing on police resources to identify and process each individual," Corp. Dan Pollock with the RCMP's targeted policing unit said in the release. "For some time, this residence was identified as a priority problem premise by the police and the residents in the area."

Two Vernon men, aged 27 and 52, were arrested and charged in relation to drug trafficking and possession of stolen property, and released from custody.

A 30-year-old Vernon man was arrested leaving the residence with stolen property and charged with possession of stolen property.

A 29-year-old Vernon woman was arrested on multiple outstanding arrest warrants and remains in custody.
