SUMMERLAND - A couple stopped to help the people injured in a crash on Christmas Eve day near Kickininee Park south of Summerland, and RCMP are now hoping to hear from them.

Around 8:30 a.m., Dec. 24, RCMP were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97. It was determined a brown Honda Odyssey minivan was travelling norhtbound when the driver crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound purple Chevrolet Spark sedan.

The male driver of the van and the female driver of the sedan, both Summerland-area residents, were both injured and taken to Penticton hospital. The man has been released but the woman remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

RCMP noticed a middle-aged couple providing medical assistance to the young male until B.C. Ambulance arrived. The couple left before RCMP could speak with them and investigators are now asking the couple to contact police.

The couple, or anyone knowing who they are, is asked to call RCMP South Okanagan Traffic Services at 250-499-2250.
