Vernon RCMP are seeking witnesses after a child was clipped by a car at an intersection in Armstrong last month.

According to a Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP media release, a child was walking through the intersection near Armstrong Elementary School when a black passenger car clipped their backpack as it drove past.

The incident happened at the intersection of Rosedale Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road in Armstrong at roughly 3 p.m., Jan. 25.

"The incident was brought to our attention several days after it had occurred," Vernon RCMP Const. Chris Terleski said in the release. "No suspects have been identified in the investigation, however, we believe a person may have assisted the child and witnessed the event, and are asking for that person to contact us."

The RCMP is asking anyone who may have dashcam video or witnessed the incident, and have not yet spoken to police, to contact Vernon-North Okanagan Const. Donovan Warnes at 250-838-6818.
