RCMP searching for poachers after livestock killed in Rock Creek area

Someone may be poaching livestock in the southern Interior's Boundary Country and police are asking for help with the investigation.

Officers were called to a report yesterday, Aug. 25, of three sheep and a Nubian goat found dead in a pasture in the 3500 block of Highway 3 near Rock Creek, according to an RCMP media release.

The owner told police the animals were alive and well at around 8 p.m. the night before but they were found dead in the morning.

Investigators suspect poachers and say the animals were killed intentionally.

Anyone who may have been in the area and saw any suspicious persons or vehicles stopped across Highway 3 from the Kettle Valley golf course are asked to contact Const. Chris Odgaard with Midway RCMP at 250-449-2244, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
