RCMP are hoping to advance the investigation into the sudden death of a West Kootenay man last October by releasing his identity to the public.

The Southeast District Major Crime Unit and the BC Coroners Service are investigating the sudden death of Aaron Graham, 47, on Oct. 8, 2019. Officers received a call about a deceased person in the Vallican area near Nelson and found the man's body on a private property.

An autopsy has confirmed that Aaron’s death involved criminality.

"No arrests have been made in relation to Mr. Graham’s death," RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said in a media release. "To protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation no further details of his death will be released at this time."

Graham’s family provided police with a photo to assist with the investigation. Police are asking their privacy be respected, and thank Slocan Valley residents for their cooperation in the investigation.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Southeast District Major Crime Unit at 1-877-987-8477.
