TWO LYTTON AREA RESIDENTS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE
KAMLOOPS - RCMP continue to investigate the collision that claimed two lives near Kamloops on Saturday morning.
RCMP say the crash happened at about 11 a.m. Dec. 17. Police say in a news release a westbound Ford pickup truck with two occupants crossed over the centre line on a two lane section of the Trans Canada highway near the New Gold mine hitting an eastbound Nissan Rogue.
The two Lytton area residents in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say their ages and identity are not being released yet. The man and woman in the pickup truck are from Prince George and were taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
RCMP are still trying to determine the cause of the crash, but say weather and road conditions were good at the time. Snow began falling while emergency personnel arrived.
