Ashcroft RCMP are investigating the cause of a fire which damaged two homes in Cache Creek early yesterday morning.

"On April 15, at 4:41 a.m., Ashcroft RCMP received a request to assist the Cache Creek Volunteer Fire Department who were responding to a report of two residential structures on fire in the area of Stanley Park Drive in Cache Creek," according to an RCMP media release.

"RCMP officers responded to the scene and closed Stage Road to all traffic while fire crews battled the blaze. Although the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, police believe that the blaze is suspicious in nature. As such, both the RCMP and the Cache Creek Volunteer Fire Department are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire."

RCMP say there have been no reported injuries related to the fire.

Anyone with any information that may assist in the ongoing investigation is asked to contact the Ashcroft RCMP at 250-453-2216.
