RCMP investigate after Penticton woman struck by bullet

Penticton RCMP are continuing to investigate an incident involving a woman struck by a bullet in the Carmi area of Penticton last Friday, July 10, 2020.

Penticton RCMP are investigating after an apparent shooting in which a woman was hit by a small calibre bullet.

Police were called to a rural property in the 2000 block of Carmi Road on July 10 around 8:30 p.m., according to an RCMP media release.

A resident in the area was walking outside and felt a sharp stinging feeling on her back, at the same time she heard something drop to the ground nearby, police said.

Her husband searched the ground and found what appeared to be a spent .22 calibre bullet.

The woman developed a red mark on her back but was otherwise uninjured.

RCMP said no suspects were found at the time, and the investigation continues.
