An Enderby resident is being praised by the RCMP for the help she gave after witnessing a multi-vehicle collision.

According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release, Enderby resident Lisa Rands gave immediate and continuing care to several children following the multi-vehicle crash that took place south of Enderby on Highway Jan. 6.

"Your courageous and selfless actions that day brought comfort to those affected by this tragedy," Vernon North Okanagan Sup. Shawna Baher said in the release. "Your kindness and willingness to render emergency assistance to those in a time of need is commendable, and for that, we offer our sincerest appreciation."

Rands was at the scene of the collision and her continued help allowed emergency personnel to provide life-saving care to other victims and to manage the unfolding situation.

The RCMP has awarded Rand with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her kindness and compassion.
