RCMP destroy smoke grenade found near Kamloops motel

KAMLOOPS - The police have seized and safely destroyed a smoke grenade that was left near the Grandview Motel in Kamloops yesterday.

RCMP say the area around the motel on Grandview Terrace was blocked off for several hours after the smoke grenade was discovered around noon Sunday, Aug. 13.

In a media release, police say the grenade had its pin pulled but it failed to ignite.

Still unknown at this time is where the grenade came from and who left it near the motel.

Anybody with information on who may be involved is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
