SUMMERLAND - RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a Summerland teen.

Police were called to assist B.C. Ambulance paramedics at a Summerland area home just after 7 a.m. today, April 4, according to an RCMP media release.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but early indications are it was not due to suspicious circumstances, police say.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with this young person’s family and friends as they face the tragic loss of their loved one,” Sgt. Tear Faulkner of the Summerland RCMP says in the release.

The B.C. Coroners Service will be supported by Summerland RCMP in the ongoing investigation.

The identity of the deceased is not being released, and no further information is being released at this time.
