VERNON - RCMP are asking the public for help after a knife-wielding man robbed the Sparks corn stand on Kalamalka Road yesterday.

An RCMP press release states the man approached the young employee working at the Sparks corn stand at Kalamalka Road, near 11 Avenue, just before 4 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 7.

The man then allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded money. The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash before the man fled the scene in an older small blue Ford pick-up truck.

The employee, although very shaken, managed to snap a photo of the truck.

The suspect in the incident is described as roughly 6' tall, with scruffy blonde hair, a red beard and wearing glasses a hat and a black T-shirt.

RCMP are asking anyone with any information about the suspect vehicle, or the person involved in this robbery, to contact Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171, or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
