FILE PHOTO - In this July 2019 file photo the coloured sections of the rainbow crosswalk on Kalamalka Lake Road at Kal Beach in Coldstream were covered in white paint. The rainbow crosswalk has once again been the target of vandals who recently smeared white paint across the multi-coloured road markings.

The rainbow crosswalk opposite Kalamalka Beach has once again been the target of vandals who recently smeared white paint across the multi-coloured road markings.

According to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, the vandalism took place sometime between March 12 and 13.

"This is the second incident in less than two years that vandals have targeted this location," Vernon RCMP spokesperson Corp. Tania Finn said in a media release. "Unfortunately, no suspects were identified in the investigation in 2019."

The RCMP is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Vernon RCMP Const. Robert Drake at 250-260-7149 or remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com.
