NOTRE-DAME-DE-LAUS, Que. - Quebec provincial police are investigating a double homicide after the discovery of two females in a home 250 kilometres northwest of Montreal.
Sgt. Marc Tessier says a man turned himself in to officers at police headquarters in Gatineau in western Quebec early Monday morning.
Police said he asked officers to go to a residence in Notre-Dame-de-Laus, the town where the man lives.
"I can tell you that the suspect did know the victims, but the next of kin have not been notified," Tessier said.
Tessier said authorities will withhold the ages and identities of the victims until that happens.
Details about a possible court appearance for the suspect, who is 60, remained unclear Monday.
Investigators and crime-scene technicians were combing the residence for evidence.
