An Okanagan family-owned distillery is taking the release of their new whiskey as an opportunity to give back to the community.

Okanagan Spirits Distillery released its 2020 Cask-strength Laird of Fintry Whisky today, Nov. 26, just in time for Black Friday.

The funds from each bottle sold will go to the Vernon Upper Room Mission or Kelowna Gospel Mission to provide three hot meals for those in need.

"Our family has never been a fan of the consumerism surrounding Black Friday," owner Jeremie Dyck said in a release. "So we decided to do something that gives back to those most in need in our community."

The Limited Edition 2020 Cask Strength Laird of Fintry Single Malt Whisky, also called The Black Laird, was released today by Okanagan Spirits.
