KELOWNA - Kelowna city council has agreed to amend a development permit to allow a proposed hotel to add another storey and 18 suites.

Microtel Inn and Suites, which is part of the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts chain, received approval back in April for a four-storey, 65-unit hotel at 2629 Highway 97 North in Rutland.

Since then applicant SKJJ Holdings decided to add another storey with 18 more suites, bringing the total to 83 and some parking spots will be moved underground.

Council approved the extra storey at its meeting yesterday, Nov. 27.
