When Albert and Rollande Wilton of Princeton won the $500,000 Extra prize on a recent 6/49 lottery draw, their sons wouldn’t believe that they’d won.
The Wiltons bought the winning ticket for the June 1 6/49 draw at the Petro-Canada station on Bridge Street in Princeton, according to a BC Lottery Corporation media release.
When he checked the ticket and found out they’d won the money, he thought he’d surprise his wife.
“We were at home and about to head to bed,” Albert said in the release.“I called her over and said we won $100.”
He came clean with his wife and the couple called their sons who didn’t believe them.
The Wiltons don't have any plans yet on how they'll spend their winnings.
