UPDATE: Power outage being restored in Penticton

The City of Penticton is reporting power outages affecting several streets in the city this morning, June 29, 2016.

PENTICTON - The city is almost done restoring power to parts of Penticton after reported outages this morning.

Power outages occurred in the 500- to 700-block of Churchill Avenue in addition to the 700-block of Lakeshore Drive West earlier this morning, June 29, including the lower part of Ellis Street, Abbott Street and Marina Way, but by 10 a.m., city communications officer Tina Lee says crews have since restored power to all but Marina Way.

Lee says the power failure affecting the restored streets was caused by a defective termination cable.

City crews continue work to restore Marina Way.
