Possible child-luring incident at Kamloops elementary school

KAMLOOPS — Police are seeking information after two Kamloops elementary students were invited to pet a dog in a vehicle that sped off when school staff arrived.

Yesterday, May 10, around lunchtime, 12:30 p.m., police received a report of a suspected child-luring incident, a media release says.

Two women and a dog in a white Honda Sedan drove up to speak to two young male students near Arthur Hatton Elementary School. They reportedly invited the students to pet the dog in the rear seat, but then quickly drove away when school staff approached the area.

The students did not know the women in the vehicle.

Police say they were driving a white newer-model Honda Sedan with a radio antenna on the rear. The dog is described as a white and brown Russell Terrier.
