After months of only accepting virtual and phone orders, a well-known Rutland cake company is celebrating the reopening of its shop location.

Whisk Cake Company reopened its doors July 1, and is encouraging residents to swing by and pick up a tasty treat or a snack, according to its Facebook page.

Known for its creative cakes, in April Whisk created a special COVID-19 themed cake for a customer in the midst of the pandemic.

"The cake (featured) a giant toilet paper roll, hand sanitizer, a face mask and a caution tape message saying “quarantine, happy 29th birthday.” All of it is completely edible, according to the company's Facebook post.

Lately, the company has been creating colourful cupcakes for Central Okanagan graduates and for a Blink-182 fan.

The shop will be open until 4 p.m. today at their location at 203 Rutland Road North.
