Policing issues front and centre at tonight's town hall meeting in Penticton

PENTICTON - Do you have concerns or comments about policing in Penticton and the South Okanagan? If so, there will be an opportunity this evening for you to have your say.

Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP commander Supt. Ted De Jager will be present at a town hall and community policing forum scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, July 12, at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

De Jager will present information regarding the current status of policing in the region, provide local policing statistics and offer a look ahead in policing priorities.

Following his presentation, the public will be invited to participate in an open mike session to ask questions or make comments.

The meeting is open to all residents of the regional district from Summerland to Penticton.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
