Police release few details about shooting in Vernon parking lot

FILE PHOTO

A gun was fired in the parking lot of a Vernon business last week.

Officers were called at approximately 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 to the parking lot of a business in the 5100 block of 26 Street to a report of shots being fired, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP don’t identify the business.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators at the scene of the shooting “located consistent with a firearm being discharged,” RCMP said in the release. RCMP don't say what kind of gun was involved, how many shots were fired and if the bullets damaged any property.

RCMP did say the shooting was targeted and not a random act.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file #2024-19624 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or by leaving a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com.
