KAMLOOPS - Officers are hoping witnesses will come forward with information after a teenager was injured in a hit and run yesterday, Feb. 2.

Around 4:20 p.m. a 17-year-old male crossing Valleyview drive was struck by a small car.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush, a spokesperson for Kamloops RCMP says the vehicle is described as red or burgundy in colour, driven by a Caucasian male with longer brown hair in his 20s.

Bush says one witness said the vehicle fled the scene on Comazzetto Road, heading towards the highway and was closely followed by a white truck.

The teenager managed to return home and was taken to hospital where he received treatment. His injuries were minor and he was later released that evening.

Anyone with information on the event or on the two vehicles is urged to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000. To remain anonymous, call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-222-8477.
