A Porsche drove into a business that teaches kids how to code in Kelowna
A Porsche SUV collided into a Kelowna storefront early this morning.
Les Bellamy, founder of Bellamy Homes Inc. in Kelowna, works next door to Code Ninjas on Enterprise Way, the business where the crash happened.
When he arrived to the plaza this morning, he saw police vehicles, a cordoned-off parking lot and the wreckage.
“It did pretty substantial damage,” he said.
The Porsche Cayenne SUV appears to have smashed through the exterior glass before striking a brick wall and coming to a rest, he said.
There was a small amount of damage that crept into Bellamy’s office but the workday was able to proceed.
“Inside our office it’s very, very minor.”
He said some drywall dust was blown into Bellamy Homes from underneath the wall, and there was minor gapping along some tiles in the unit.

It’s tough for Bellamy to speculate how an accident like this could have happened, as the storefront was about 40 feet away from the nearest parking stall.
“Mistaking the accelerator for the brake – that would be pretty impossible in this scenario.”
Bellamy said he spoke with a police officer this morning, April 20, who told him it happened around 4:30 a.m.
As of 9:15 a.m. he said the vehicle was still in Code Ninjas.
“I’m guessing a structural engineer needs to come to evaluate it,” he said. “I can speak to that as a construction guy.”
