Police are looking for a "vehicle of interest" after an armed robbery at Aberdeen Mall last week.

Kamloops RCMP officers were called to the mall on Wednesday, Nov. 30, around 3:40 p.m., after a man bear sprayed an employee at one of the stores in the mall, according to an RCMP news release.

Police didn't say what the man was suspected of stealing.

He is described as a man in his 30s with short hair, a small tattoo on a cheek below his eye. He was wearing a dark three-quarter length jacket at the time.

“As part of the investigation, officers reviewed video surveillance and identified a vehicle of interest,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “We’re asking the public to please have a look at the vehicle — a four-door Honda Civic with damage on the front corner — and contact us if they have seen it recently, suspect they know who it belongs to, or are in fact its owner.”

It appears the suspect fled the mall on the Honda Civic, but police didn't specifically state that in the news release.

Those who witnessed or have information, including video footage related to the investigation, can contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-42726.
