ENDERBY - Police are asking for the public's help in the hunt for a suspect who tried to rob an elderly Enderby man in late December.

According to a police press release, just before 8 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2018, RCMP responded to a report of a woman trying to rob an elderly man in the parking lot of a local bakery.

The suspect allegedly approached the man and threatened to stab him if he didn't hand over his money. After a brief struggle, the man escaped in his vehicle without sustaining injuries.

According to a separate press release, police have now identified the suspect, but they have yet to release her name. RCMP do not say if she has been arrested.

The woman is described as Caucasian in her mid-to-late 40s. She's approximately 5'4" with a thin build and blonde hair. She was wearing a camouflage jacket and jeans during the attempted robbery.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Enderby RCMP at 250-838-6818, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
