Police investigating homicide of woman in West Kelowna hotel

WEST KELOWNA - The death of a woman last night at a hotel in West Kelowna is being investigated as murder.

Police haven’t released any names, but senior media relations officer Sgt. Annie Linteau said in a press release, a man was taken into custody a short distance away from the hotel in the 3400 block of Carrington Road on July 22, shortly after 7 p.m.

The man and the female victim were from the Lower Mainland and knew each other, police say, and the Southeast District major crime unit has taken over the investigation.

Linteau said the investigation has impacted some area businesses as police search for evidence.
