KELOWNA – RCMP say they have identified the man found dead in his vehicle near Myra Canyon two weeks ago, but still don’t know how he died.

Alexander Louis Hegedus, 54, from Peachland was the owner of a local painting company. His body was found in a vehicle parked on a forest service road east of Kelowna March 22.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit is releasing his identity along with a photograph in hopes of encouraging witnesses to come forward with any contacts they may have had on Thursday, March 22 in the Kelowna, West Kelowna and or Peachland areas.

“The investigation into Alex Hegedus' death is continuing at this time as serious crime investigators await the final results of the post-mortem autopsy conducted yesterday in the Okanagan," O'Donaghey says.

Hegedus was wearing white painter’s pants and a white T-shirt with his company's logo on the front left chest. He was found in his dark grey or charcoal Ford F-150 XLT with a matching canopy.
