KAMLOOPS - A report of an in progress break and enter in downtown Kamloops led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man who is known to police.
Yesterday afternoon, at 1:12 p.m., officers and police dog services responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a garden shed on Anvil Crescent.
According to a release issued yesterday evening by Staff Sgt. Edward Preto, the male suspect attempted to break into several vehicles on the 100 block of Columbia Street West.
After the call, the suspect was spotted travelling by foot on the south side of Columbia Street, near the backyards of the Sahali Terrace townhouses, Preto said.
The suspect will remain in custody until his bail hearing. Police are recommending charges of breach of probation, two break and enters and a mischief charge.
