Last Monday, July 27, a person wearing a black balaclava, a long-sleeved black shirt and dark jeans entered a downtown bank around 4:15 p.m., allegedly with a sawed off shotgun. The suspect demanded cash and held his gun in a makeshift holder taped to the side of their leg. Witnesses estimate the suspect’s height at 6’3”.

Tellers gave the person an undisclosed amount of cash in a black sports bag before the suspect fled on a mountain bike.

Officers contained the area by setting up a perimeter but could not locate the person who robbed the bank. Investigators are calling on the public to provide any tips in case they saw the suspect in Salmon Arm’s downtown core on the day of the robbery.
