Polar Bear Dip set to go in Summerland New Year's Day

Dippers prepare for the plunge at a past Summerland Polar Bear Dip.

It’s apparently a great cure for a New Year's Eve hangover.

The Summerland Kinsmen are holding their annual Polar Bear Dip once again at Sun-Oka Beach in Trout Creek.

This year’s event takes place at noon sharp on Jan. 1, with all proceeds raised going back to the Summerland community.

The Summerland Kinsmen said in a press release issued today, Dec. 16, the polar bear dip will have prizes for best costumes as well as youngest and oldest dippers.

Hot dogs, hot chocolate and collector’s T-shirts will be available by donation.
