KELOWNA – More than 20,000 people attended the 8th annual Centre of Gravity extreme sports and music festival in Kelowna over the weekend, but despite having the best lineup of talent of any previous year, rainy weather kept ticket sales down slightly.
In past years they have sold out, however event organizer Scott Emslie said pre-sales were only at 70 per cent capacity two days before the start.
RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan says the crowd at City Park was well behaved and there were fewer problems than in past years.
“Nothing major happened,” he says. “We felt the crowd was a little bit younger this year than it was last year and it just didn’t seem as busy.”
