The world needs more nerds like provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

Science World's The World Needs More Nerds campaign features a photo of seven-year-old Henry. The fundraiser is for the centre so it will be able to open for the future generation of nerds, according to its website.

"We believe that now, more than ever, the world needs people who care about science. People who spot a problem and wonder, 'How can I fix it?' Smart, driven, compassionate people like Dr. Bonnie Henry," according the Science Centre's website.

The Vancouver centre closed its doors in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Henry, beloved by B.C. residents, has multiple social media fan clubs, and is known for her cool, collected demeanour when delivering the province's daily COVID-19 updates.

She's been featured in the The New York Times, had an octopus named after her, and had Fluevog shoes designed specially with her in mind.
