The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a new wildfire north of Highway 33, approximately 20 kilometres east of Kelowna and just north of the community of Joe Rich.

KELOWNA - The Evacuation Order for the 465-hectare Philpott Road wildfire has been partially downgraded.
Some residents along Philpott Road will be able to return to their homes, according to a Central Okanagan Regional District release issued today, Sep. 3.
The Evacuation Order has been partially downgraded to an Evacuation Order for 11 properties from 480 to 1102 Philpott Road.
Seven properties from 1120 – 1495 Philpott Road are still on Evacuation Order and are unable to return at this time.
Also, 22 properties along Highway 33 East and Philpott Road remain on Evacuation Alert:

People under the Evacuation Alert should be prepared to leave on short notice if conditions change.
