PENTICTON - Penticton’s first retail cannabis store opens on Saturday.

Spirit Leaf Penticton opens to the public tomorrow, Aug. 10, at its new location at 2695 Skaha Lake Rd.

Store manager Jackson Coffey says there’s already quite a buzz about the store’s imminent opening.

“Its awesome to hear,” he says.

Coffey says the store is the first franchised cannabis dispensary in Penticton, and the second in the Spirit Leaf chain in the Okanagan. Spirit Leaf recently opened a store in Vernon.

Matthew Bolton, who co-owns the franchise with brother Jason, says tomorrow’s opening will be a soft one but expects there will be a big demand.

“Everyone I meet has been asking me, ‘when is it going to open?’” he says.
