Penticton search and rescue team uses snow machines to rescue stranded UTV operator

Penticton rescue used 15 people and two snow machines to rescue a stuck UTV operator on a Forest Service Road in Penticton, Dec. 2.

A UTV operator got stuck in the Sheep Creek Forest Service Road area over this weekend and needed rescuing.

Penticton Search and Rescue mobilized 15 personnel around 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Dec. 2 after receiving a call from RCMP, according to a social media post by Penticton SAR.

The rescue organization deployed ground teams who hiked into the area and located the stranded UTV.

Rescue manager Mark Pfeifer then deployed two snow machines to complete the evacuation, according to the post.

The operation wrapped up around 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 3.
