Penticton Search and Rescue members were called to assist a man who suffered injuries in an ATV incident yesterday.

The call to assist the 51-year-old man came in shortly after noon yesterday, June 1, when the victim suffered upper body injuries after rolling his ATV north of Summerland, search and rescue manager Randy Brown said in a social media post yesterday.

The man’s injuries and location required rescuers to use a helicopter long line rescue to evacuate the man to a nearby ambulance.

The injured man, who is a Summerland resident, was then airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital. There is no word on his condition.
